Healing Through Culture, Connection & Community

Culturally grounded grief support for youth impacted by loss.

Healing Our Spirits is a culturally grounded bereavement program designed to support youth and their families who have experienced the loss of a loved one due to the toxic drug crisis. We recognize that loss is not always defined by death. We welcome participants whose loved ones have died due to the toxic drug crisis, as well as those who are grieving a loss of connection with a loved one whose substance use has changed the relationship or created harm. We believe that grieving and healing should be accessible to all.

This program provides a safe and supportive space for youth ages 12–24 to connect, share, and heal through cultural activities such as drumming, crafts, and land-based experiences.

Participants are supported in processing grief, building connection, and reducing isolation within a welcoming and inclusive environment.

The program is open to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth, including LGBTQ+ youth, and emphasizes cultural connection as a key part of the healing journey.
