Healthy Beginnings Programs
Wellness Services are offered to empower the wellbeing of our local community.
Clean Stop Program
The Clean Stop is an unfunded program which provides shower and laundry services for homeless and street entrenched individuals, at risk of homelessness may also access the services with some restrictions in place. Clients may do one load of laundry per day.
The program has been running for approximately 10 years and provides between 170 to 200 points of service per month.
We provide towels, men and ladies razors, hair, hand and body soap, detergent and Fabric Softener sheets,
Donations are gladly accepted, contact Barry James for more information.
This is a very important service for our clients when they are seeking employment, housing, or just want to feel good in clean clothes, a feeling many of us take for granted.
One of the largest components of this program is to deliver social and recreational activities to our Elders. An example of these activities would be the monthly luncheons, as well as the no host luncheons every second month.
The Elders luncheon is a social gathering of family and friends who may see each other only at this time. We have entertainment, educational sessions and safety mini workshops that are provided by other programs of the Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society.
We also have a number of craft classes and workshops which we do annually.
Affordable Recreation Community Health Program (ARCH)
